Your household data is personal. We treat it that way. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you stay in control.
1. Who we are Yoke Pty Ltd ("Yoke", "we", "us") operates the Yoke app and website. We are the data controller for personal information collected through the Service. Contact Us for privacy enquiries.
2. What we collect
App users:
Account information: name, email address, notification preferences
Household data: partner link, household ID
Task activity: task logs, timestamps, instance counts, adjusted hours
Preference data: Personal Difficulty Score (your pairwise task comparisons)
Usage data: app interactions, session timing, feature usage (for product improvement)
Device data: device type, OS version, timezone (for weekly reset logic)
Waitlist members:
Email address you provide at sign-up. We use this only to notify you when Yoke is available and to share relevant updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
3. Why we collect it

To generate personalised targets, recommendations, and balancing suggestions

To keep the Service secure and prevent misuse

We do not sell your data. We may use trusted advertising platforms to promote Yoke. If we do, we will only share the minimum data necessary (such as anonymised email lists for audience matching) and will never share your task or household data for advertising purposes.
4. Shared household data Yoke is a two-person product. When you share a household with a partner, certain information, such as whether you've accepted a Weekly Check-In recommendation, is visible within the shared household. Your partner cannot see if recommendations have been skipped or ignored. Personal Difficulty assessment responses are private to the individual.
5. How we store and protect your data We currently collect waitlist email addresses via Google Forms. This data is stored within Google's infrastructure and subject to Google's privacy and security standards. We use it only to contact you about Yoke's launch. Once the app is live, we will update this section to reflect the infrastructure in use. No system is completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
6. Data retention We retain your account and activity data for as long as your account is active. Weekly activity data is archived on a rolling basis to power recommendations and balancing. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Waitlist data is retained until you unsubscribe or we determine it is no longer needed for our launch communications.
7. Third-party services Yoke uses a small number of trusted third-party services to operate (for example, cloud hosting, analytics, and email delivery). These providers are bound by data processing agreements and may not use your data for their own purposes. If you choose to use the banking app integration within Balancing, you are redirected to your own banking app. Yoke does not receive any banking credentials or transaction data.
8. Your rights Under Australian Privacy Law (and where applicable, GDPR), you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Object to or restrict certain processing
Data portability (receiving your data in a structured format)
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

9. Children Yoke is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please Contact Us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to this policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify app users via in-app notice and waitlist members via email for any material changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
